Medicine Buddha

Vaidurya clinic was in fact established by Late Dr.Ladakh Amji without the so called Vaidurya name, benefiting all the sentient beings, since 1970s, (Dr.Rinzin Norbu’s late father) in Dechencholing, Thimphu Bhutan.  It was only named Vaidurya in recent years by Dr. Rinzin Norbu in appreciation and memory of his late father Dr. Ladakh Amji’s services to all mankind and to preserve the unique feature of family linage of holistic healing which is synthesis of Indian Ayurveda and Tibetan Medicine, that is being passed down to him.

 (The late Dr. Ladakh Amji)

The late Dr. Ladakh Amji was not only a great doctor or healer but also a great Buddhist practitioner and scholar with great wisdom who committed his whole life to the practice of Dharma and preservation, propagation, and promotion of Traditional Buddhist science of healing in Bhutan.    He was widely respected by his students as a Rinpoche, the precious being for his selfless contribution with his profound knowledge and compassion. He studied Buddhism and medicine under many great enlightened masters such as Drigung Rahor Chodrag Rinpoche and Khyenrab Norbu etc. in Tibet. He started the first traditional doctor training course in Bhutan at the National Institute of Traditional Medicine under the wise vision of His Majesty the fourth Druk Gyelpo, Dharma King of Bhutan. He has also left behind his wisdom of healing in writings comprising three books which he elaborates on many subjects such as the diagnosis system through Pulse and Urine Analysis.

On the last day of Dr. Ladakh Amji’s life, Dr. Rinzin Norbu was given a will and a mission by his late father to continue the family lineage healing services to benefit all the sentient beings which he learned from him. Since then he continue to follow the footsteps of his late father’s services to mankind.

Vaidurya’s mission is to liberate all sentient beings from the physical and mental sufferings without considering their material status whether they are rich or poor if it benefits them. That’s how his late father started his services without collecting fees and charges for the consultation and medication from the poor.

Our vision is to continue these services with improvement in the years to come.
