Dr. Rinzin Norbu was born in Dechencholing, Thimphu, Bhutan. He was educated and trained by his late father since very young age at 6 years old in literature, Buddhist philosophy, medicine, astrology and other teachings on Buddhist practices.
Besides he received all the oral transmissions and initiations from his late father on the Buddhist medical Tantra texts. He also received from other Master from different lineage such as the late Throgawa Rinpoche, the founder of the Chagpori Medical Institute in India.
Dr. Rinzin Norbu worked under his late father at the National Institute of Traditional Medicine (NITM), as an assistant to his late father for several years before his father passed away in 1996. He now is an independent freelance doctor dedicated to spread the teachings of Medicine Buddha and promote his family’s unique linage of healing system which is a synthesis of Indian Ayurveda and Tibetan Medicine to benefit all sentient beings without any boundaries. He travels around the world with his profound knowledge on the Buddhist science of healing with the mission and vision to benefit all.
